Hazzell Chévez, CLC

“Joined as MA and Clinical Program Coordinator in October 2023. She was born and raised in San Miguel, El Salvador, and moved to Colorado 9 years ago to call the Roaring Fork Valley her new home. She obtained a Doctorate degree in Medicine from the University of El Salvador and later specialized in women’s health. Hazzell believes her experiences navigating the healthcare system as an American immigrant have made her perceptive and empathetic of the challenges the population she serves faces, and that is one reason she continues to advocate for maternal and child health, which also fulfills her passion and life mission. Previously, she worked as a WIC Specialist and Breastfeeding Coordinator for Eagle and Pitkin Counties. In addition to those roles, she was also a member of the Board of Directors of CHS and La Clínica del Pueblo in Carbondale. She loves spending time with her husband, Gerson, and their unique and adventurous son, Josh,  while they are outdoors enjoying nature and sports RFV has to offer, spending a cozy and relaxing day at home, or traveling to explore new places.”
